GatewayC, our primary care education programme has grown significantly during 2021. In April, the team won the Christie’s ‘You Made a Difference’ Award, recognising their hard work during the early stages of the pandemic in ensuring that Primary care were updated in relation to cancer early diagnosis and managing cancer patients. With over 11,500 registered users, GatewayC launched its 20th module of online learning, hosted live webinars for over 2,500 people and reached over 1,000 Twitter followers ensuring that its cancer key microlearning messages are spread across social media far and wide. The team attended its first face-to-face event in 2 years, the Annual Primary care Best Practice Show & RCGP Annual Conference, and launched regional webinars, and infographics supporting early diagnosis in the community. Looking forward Finally, it is with some sadness, the SoO saw the departure of Professor Richard Cowan. Professor Cowan has been at the heart of the success of the development of the SoO over the last ten years – contributing significantly to a vision of integrated, and multi-professional approach to education. Richard will be missed, but the SoO welcomes Professor Richard Fuller as the new Director of Education, with an amended remit.
