Major gifts for Macclesfield

For more information on any of our upcoming events, please get in touch on 0161 446 3988 or email events@christies.org Firstly, an Adlington company has made a major donation towards the building of the state-of-the art Christie Cancer Centre at Macclesfield District General Hospital. Proseal uk Limited, based on the Adlington Industrial Estate, is contributing £1 million to the £23 million target as part of its local community support programme. Proseal directors and co-founders Steve Malone and Robbie Hargreaves, who set up the company in 1998, say the donation is on behalf of all its employees, whose hard work and dedication have enabled it to make this important contribution. “We have enjoyed immense success and growth in the 20 years since we established the business – much of this can be attributed to our fantastic, committed and hard-working employees from the locality, and we therefore wanted to put something back into the community. “The Christie is one of the charities we have chosen to support because its work can touch on the lives, directly or indirectly, of all our employees and their families and friends.” “The Christie Cancer Centre is certain to make a difference to so many people,” say Steve and Robbie. “We are delighted to be helping turn this vision into reality.” During the first part of 2019 the charity team has been working on bringing The Christie to Macclesfield and thanks to the local community it has been a major success.

The Zochonis Charitable Trust are long standing supporters of The Christie charity and has made significant contributions to some of the biggest developments within The Christie over the past 20 years, including the new Outpatients Department, Integrated Procedures Unit and the Proton Beam Therapy Research Room. The Charitable Trust’s latest contribution made to the charity has come in the form of an amazing £350,000 grant towards the new Christie at Macclesfield appeal. We are delighted to have the support of The Zochonis Charitable Trust once again this year and hope we can continue to bring in high level gifts for this appeal in the coming months!
