At present, due to the high community prevalence of the Omicron variant, the trust has reverted to its previous visiting guidelines to maintain the safety of our patients and staff and its ‘green site’. Trust guidance is regularly reviewed in line with the national guidance and changes approved by the Clinical Advisory Group (CAG). See COVID-19 Visitor Guidance – updated 13/12/22. Except for visiting exemptions documented in the trust’s visitor guidance, no patient visitors would be allowed in inpatient outbreak areas. Restricted ward visits and cohorting of clinical and ancillary staff specific to outbreak areas within inpatient areas has been implemented when required. There is clear signage at the entrances to the trust, through clinical and non-clinical areas, departments and corridors prompting visitors and staff to comply with biosecurity measures. All staff and patients unless exempt or not tolerated are required and supported to wear a surgical face mask when on site. This includes in shared offices and non-patient facing areas. Surgical face masks are provided at patient/visitor and staff entrances along with hand sanitation areas which are also available throughout the trust.
