Inventories include raw materials and consumables held by The Christie Pharmacy Limited.

In response to the COVID 19 pandemic, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) centrally procured personal protective equipment and passed these to NHS providers free of charge. During 2021/22 Trust received £434k items purchased by DHSC (2020/21 £2,281k). Due to the reduction of purchases the Trust is no longer holding a stock of these items.

These inventories were recognised as additions to inventory at deemed cost with the corresponding benefit recognised in income. The utilisation of these items is included in the expenses disclosed above.
