2019/20 and 2020/21 Scores for each indicator together with that of the survey benchmarking group (Specialist Acute Trust) are presented below.
Building on the work from previous years, we have continued to focus on promoting a positive working environment. In 2021/22 we have continued to promote our ‘Respect’ campaign aimed at promoting respectful behaviours in the workplace. The NHS staff survey is conducted annually. From 2021/22 the survey questions align to the seven elements of the NHS ‘People Promise’, and retains the two previous themes of engagement and morale. These replace the ten indicator themes used in previous years. All indicators are based on a score out of 10 for specific questions with the indicator score being the average of those. The response rate to the 2021/22 survey among trust staff was 44 % (2020/21: 49%). 2021/22 Scores for each indicator together with that of the survey benchmarking group (Specialist Acute Trusts) are presented below.

Staff engagement Team Working
Sickness The Trust has implemented several initiatives to improve the health & wellbeing of its staff and to minimise absence due to sickness. However, absence in 2021 was impacted on by absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
