Fig. 1 - Response Rate Trend & Benchmark
4. Overview of Results Due to the new People Promise themes, it is not possible to offer a thematic comparison to data in previous years, however a comparison has been provided for the themes of Staff Engagement and Morale. As can be seen in Fig. 2. the Trust has had statistically significant falls in both themes. Our Acute Trust benchmark data indicates that this may be a broader theme across the NHS (see graphs in Appendix 4). However notably within these themes, our Trust does perform better than the benchmark in the sub-categories of Advocacy and Thinking about leaving indicating that our reputation is strong, and our staff are advocates of the quality of care we provide. In the People Promise elements, our results are consistent with the benchmark average in three areas, and we perform above the benchmark in the ‘We are compassionate and inclusive’ and ‘We are recognised and rewarded’. This is an encouraging indication that our work on EDI and the RESPECT campaign is having a positive impact and that people are showing appreciation and recognising each other for good work. There are only two areas in which our organisation performs below benchmark, ‘We are always learning’ and ‘We are a team’. Our Divisional results indicate areas of good practice across all the People Promise elements and themes, which gives a solid foundation for the sharing of good practice and learning across the Trust (see Appendix 5). When the national data is released at the end of March 2022, a comparison exercise will be undertaken of our position nationally, alongside other Greater Manchester Trusts and oncology centres.
