Public Board of Directors papers 29.09.22
We continue to report cases of a range of infections although other than for C Difficile there are no national standards or thresholds. Although we continue to have patients with C Difficile, reflecting community prevalence of infection and the vulnerability of our patients, audits show that in no case has infection been the result of a lapse in the standards of care. Whilst the number of formal complaints was comparable to previous months, the number of contacts with the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) increased from 36 in July to 66 in August. Most of the increase was in PALS contacts to provide compliments. Our post treatment mortality rates remain within the expected very low limits.
