Christie Scanning and Imaging Centre brochure
OUR VISION
The scanning department is the heartbeat of the hospital. A scan shows if the treatment’s worked, in which case it’s the best day in that patient’s life, or conversely it could show that it hasn’t worked and so they have to think about alternative treatments.”
To future proof the service and provide patients with the very best care and treatment, we need a new spacious fit-for-purpose facility, along with a state-of-the-art, high-tech 4D CT scanner. The new scanning centre will be built at the Wilmslow Road entrance to the hospital on the site of the former outpatients’ department. The current scanning department, which is in a different location, will continue to operate ensuring minimum disruption to patients and continuity of care while the build is underway. The Christie Charity is spearheading a major fundraising appeal for the construction of a multi-million pound scanning centre.
