Such policies and systems of work are agreed and

monitored through the trusts governance processes. See Management and Control of Respiratory Viruses Policy, Pandemic Flu Plan and Winter Plan 2021/2022. The policy is due to be updated but remains safe and follows current practice. With effect from 19/01/22 the trust in collaboration with Christie Pathology Partnership (CPP) introduced a combined fluA/fluB/RSV/Covid PCR which means admissions with an acute respiratory illness/flu like illness can be screened for all of these with a single swab.
