Q: Do I have to leave a lot of money to make a big difference? A: A gift of any size can make a real difference towards helping people with cancer. You don’t need to leave a lot of money. Q: What kind of gift can I leave to The Christie Charity in my Will? A: You can leave a specific sum of money, an item of value, or a share of your estate. Many supporters choose this option because it allows them to provide for friends and family first.

Q: Can I leave it to The Christie Charity to decide where my gift is spent when the time comes? A: Yes, of course. Unrestricted gifts go directly to funding priority projects in most need of support at the relevant time. However, if you feel strongly about directing your gift to a specific area of our work, please refer to this as a ‘wish’, rather than a restricted condition of the gift where possible. Q: Does my decision to include a gift in my Will have to be final? A: Not at all, you’re free to change your Will at any time.

Jan’s story

When Jan Ross from Liverpool was diagnosed with cancer of the bone marrow, she underwent gruelling chemotherapy that left her so tired she could only crawl up her stairs. Two years later, Jan’s cancer was back. “ Thanks to an amazing new drug trialled at The Christie, after just seven months my cancer can’t be detected. There is hope and a new way

Later that same year, Jan joined a clinical trial at The Christie and was started on a new drug developed by researchers here. The drug harnesses the body’s own immune system to fight cancer. Since being on it, Jan’s quality of life has improved dramatically.
