Cyber Security Alerting

All urgent cyber security alerts received have been progressed quickly with closure on the external portal. Log4J is a significant vulnerability that could in future be exploited for a cyber-attack. The digital team responded quickly to the threat, updating the SIRO on progress and submitting all compliance to NHSD on time. Digital Services also identified and removed a range of malicious software through its advanced threat protection tools, with no harm experienced in the organisation during this period. The six-month work off plan agreed with NHS Digital was delivered in December 2021 in line with timescale required. This covered a range of initiatives with actions across the framework identified by the routine MIAA audit. IG training compliance was a key challenge where the organisation met the target required. A bid for funding to replace the Trusts disaster recovery solution (back-ups) was made and successfully funded from NHS X. £250,000 received early 2022. This was an area of risk identified and prioritised.
