Meeting of the Board of Directors Thursday 30 th June 2022

1 Overview June 2022 to December 2022 represents an exciting period for Digital Services. The draft digital strategy approved for consultation at June 2022 Digital Board sets the future for Digital for the next 5 years. The strategy responds to the clinical and service strategies requirements. Consultation on the strategy will be conducted July – September for final ratification at September Management Board and Digital Board. A new look governance structure for Digital starts in June. Meeting every 3 months, Digital Board will set and approve 6 monthly objectives (detailed in this paper), review progress at a 3-month check-in then renew and approve the objectives for the next 6 months. Digital Programme Board will then be responsible for delivering these objectives and will meet monthly. There are several key appointments to make to the Digital Services senior management team starting in June. The Head of Digital Portfolio, CCIO for Nursing, Head of Digital Service Delivery (CIO’s previous post) and Head of Product Engineering. These posts are out for recruitment, and we expect to see a renewed digital senior management structure in place by the autumn. Amy Vercell has been appointed as CCIO (Nursing) to a 12-month secondment for 3 days a week. Amy is a cancer nurse by background with strong clinical experience at The Christie; and research experience working within Professor Yorke’s research portfolio. Amy will provide excellent leadership for Digital Nursing within the trust and play a vital role in supporting digital transformation. The CIO has been working closely with the Greater Manchester Cancer Alliance and has been appointed by the GM CIO Providers Group as the CIO representative for cancer in GM. Recently working through the stratified follow up pilot project and a commission by Health Innovation Manchester, the next period will see renewed involvement in the alliance digital projects. Objectives for the Period June 2022 to December 2022 The following are objectives for Digital Services during the period June 2022 to December 2022 and the specific actions for that period. For approval and monitoring at Digital Board. 1. Work with the COO to develop an operating model for Digital Services and recruit to the vacant posts within the senior management team. 2. Release and implement the Digital Strategy, with appropriate consultation and approval. 2
