Dear Chris In response to your letter dated 3 rd December, I want to thank you for conf irming that the Board will consider the independent investigation report at the public Board meeting in January. It’s positive to hear that a number of the recommendations in the report have already been incorporated into the Christie’s policies and procedures. I also note the changes in leadership which have taken place within the research directorate since the report was carried out. With specif ic regard to the serious concerns raised around bribery and embezzlement by employees of the Christie, I note that no evidence has been found by the Review teamwhich supports any allegations of wrongdoing by Trust staf f. It follows that we do not propose making any further enquiries in this respect. In light of the report f indings, and subject to confirmation that the Christie will be developing an action plan to address any outstanding recommendations, NHSEI will not be taking any further regulatory action at this stage.
