Those patients being discharged to a care facility within their 14-day isolation period are discharged to a designated care setting, where they should complete their remaining isolation as per national guidance There is an assessment of the need for a negative PCR and 3 days self- isolation before certain elective procedures on selected low risk patients who are fully vaccinated, asymptomatic, and not a contact of case suspected/confirmed case of COVID-19 within the last 10 days. Instead, these patients can take a lateral flow test (LFT) on the day of the procedure as per national guidance

The trust undertakes PCR testing pre-elective procedures. Asymptomatic elective surgical patients are asked to isolate ahead of a surgery date. for COVID-19 five days before surgery and are tested 5 days prior to surgery with the day of screening classed as day 1.
