The Trust has a plan in place for the implementation of the National Standards of Healthcare Cleanliness and this plan is monitored at board level.

The trust has established a Task and Finish group to ensure the standards are implemented as per the national guidance The responsibility matrix has been agreed, defining cleaning responsibilities across each work stream. Changes in functionality and layout of areas/rooms has occurred throughout the pandemic. The trust has responded to need to ensure its facilities meet the needs of its service users and staff to ensure biosecurity measures. Examples of changes include staff changing facilities, communal refreshment areas, reducing the numbers of chairs and tables, physical distancing of dining resources. Changes are communicated via the specific areas and more broadly through the daily sitrep / operational huddle and trust wide communication briefing. Cleaning standards are monitored via Synbiotix a domestic monitoring fully web-based solution, allowing quick and simple data capture optimising the process of monitoring cleanliness standards and compliance. Areas that are monitored and do not meet the required cleaning standard receive a rectification report highlighting the cleaning elements that require attention, within an agreed timescale to rectify. The supervisory team also complete daily spot checks of the clinical and non- clinical areas and record findings taking action as required. Cleaning standards and frequencies are monitored in clinical and non- clinical areas with actions in place to resolve issues in maintaining a clean environment.
