Our summary workforce performance indicators continue to show overall good performance. The essential training compliance is at 85.9% and personal development plan rates are at 81.8%. Sickness absence rates have continued to reduce in October but are still above the threshold of 3.4%. The annual adjusted turnover rate is at 16.53%. These issues and the associated plans for improvement have been considered by the new Workforce Assurance Committee. We have received notification that the Royal College of Nursing members at The Christie have voted in favour of industrial action in relation to the national pay award. We are awaiting further details and dates of when industrial action will take place. Operational plans are in place and we are engaging with our trade union colleagues to ensure services will run safely and to minimise the impact on our patients. International Stress Awareness Week focuses on stress management and campaigns against the stigma associated with stress and this year ran from 7 – 11 November. The theme for this year was Working Together to Build Resilience and Reduce Stress. The Trust ran a number of events and activities throughout the week, which were available to all staff including one-to-one relaxation, renewal and wellbeing sessions and stress management workshops. Staff showed their support to our Armed Services Community on Remembrance Day. A 2 minute silence was held in the Oak Road Reception area and the Chapel held a remembrance service. The children in the Christie Nursery learned about Remembrance Day and created poppy artwork which was displayed in the Memorial Garden. The Trust has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and is working towards Veteran Aware Accreditation and Defence Employer Recognition schemes. Staff can get involved in any of this work, by contacting the EDI Team at the-christie.equality@nhs.net.
