2.1 – Patient Experience

"I have been a patient for eight years. Last week I was told that unfortunately there was nothing else that could be done for me. I would just like to thank everyone I have come in contact with over the course of my visits. The doctors and nurses, Hassan' s team, the staff on the chemotherapy department and the people I met having procedures, bloods, scans etc. Svetlana who put my port in particularly stands out for me. Everyone I met was always kind and attentive. I don't think I could have had better treatment anywhere. Thank you all again." "Thank you for referring me to the Complimentary Therapies Team. I spoke to Anita and we had a long and lovely conversation. She gave me the opportunity to talk openly and honestly and in my own time too. She also went through some useful techniques to help manage stress levels, particularly on treatment days. She has sent me one of those yellow stars (a stress ball type thing) which I'll be making use of. I don't have her direct email address but if you could thank her on my behalf for taking the time to speak to me & for letting me bend her ear !! She was so lovely. I am so glad you have returned to "face to face" as you really helped me so much during my stay. To say I was traumatised is very much an understatement and it wasn't until I got home for the second time that I was able to relax and reflect (I had a readmission for 48hrs almost straightaway). I really cant put into words the true impact you all have but a huge 'Thank you' is important, for your kindness, compassion and friendship. Thank you!"
