Sickness absence rates have reduced significantly in September but are still above the acceptable limit of 3.4%. The annual adjusted turnover rate is at 16.73%. These issues and the associated plans for improvement have been considered by the new Workforce Assurance Committee. The Trust is celebrating Black History Month (BHM) which runs throughout October 2022. BHM is a month to celebrate the continued achievements and contributions of Black people to the UK and around the world. It’s also a time for continued action to tackle racism, reclaim Black history, and ensure Black history is represented and celebrated all year round. Our Equality and Diversity Group have been encouraging staff to join in with BHM celebrations and activities around The Christie and virtually on HIVE. The 2022 national staff survey is now open. Line managers are promoting the survey and have been issued a Survey Guidance pack. The pack contains information on how they can support their teams to complete the survey, what we have done/are doing following the results of last year’s survey, how we are promoting this year’s survey and FAQs. The survey will run until 25 th November. The Christie People & Culture Plan will support us to address our workforce risks as well as develop our culture. It brings together our actions to attract, recruit, develop, retain, support, and reward our people and teams to meet our future service needs. It has been developed by listening to feedback from colleagues across the Trust. This 3-year Plan will support us to deliver the priorities set out in our Trust Strategy and the National NHS People plan. Consultation on the draft plan is due to end at the end of October 2022.
