Meanwhile, we’ve continued to develop our plans for a new state-of-the-art research facility. Integrating researchers and clinicians into one building, our aim is to become one of the world’s top five centres for basic, translational and clinical cancer research by 2025. Plans are also underway to provide a redeveloped CT suite, allowing us to improve our facilities and benefit from the ever changing technology available to help doctors diagnose and treat cancers.

We have already announced our plans to raise £23m to build a new cancer centre at Macclesfield in East Cheshire. The new centre will provide local specialist access to Christie radiotherapy, chemotherapy and clinical trials and is due to open in summer 2021.
